Located
in San Francisco's beautiful Presidio neighborhood, SenSpa was built
within an old WWII medical supply storage facility where exposed wood
beams and skylights create a warm, rustic atmoshpere, and fuse
seamlessly with the Eastern vibe and decor.
SenSpa
not only offers a selection of exclusive treatments, but creates
sensorial experiences that arouse all the senses. Therapists are
extremely well-seasoned and have traveled near and far to discover and
develop unique therapies and techniques for SenSpa.
The 5 Senses Fusion Facial was recently added to the treatment menu and takes the sensorial experience a step further by appealing to each of the 5 senses - including taste. Soothing sounds, soft candlelight, white blossom aromatherapy, and tasty Asian nibbles chosen to pleasure the taste buds are all part of the treatment, while a special Asian facial massage works to diminish the signs of stress.

My personal favorite, the China Rose Detox Treatment incorporates
ancient Chinese healing remedies to improve the immune and digestive
systems, stimulate circulation, and aid digestion. A soothing scrub
cleanses the skin before a green tea clay body wrap is applied. While
the clay works its magic, a heavenly scalp massage is conducted, and
after a quick rinse, warm rosehip oil is applied to the body using
specialized Shiatsu massage techniques. You have the option to
concentrate on the abdomen via clay mask application or the liver via
castor oil packs placed strategically to aid in detoxification.
Facilities
include several relaxation lounges, a steam room, Swedish showers a tea
room with organic treats, a selection of teas, and cucumber infused
water, but the star of the show is definitely the warm room. Sliding
glass doors lead to a quiet, cozy room lined with lounge chairs with a
wall of water as a backdrop and a single flame fire pit at its center.
